Sri Mahabharata Jnana Yagnam – 2017
On the auspicious Vasantha Panchami, the 1st February 2017, the Jnana Yagnam by Sri Pujya Acharya Prem Siddharthji Maharaj commenced with joyous celebrations. In 2016, the Adi & Sabha Parva adhyayana was completed in 45 days in very great detail. This year, the 54 day Jnana Yagnam will take the seekers further into the Garden of Knowledge - Sri Mahabharata of Sage Vyasa.
The Jnana Yagnam began with a procession that welcomed Guru & Grantha with a Chatra Seva & Purna Kumbha Swagatham amidst chanting of Sri Sukta. Smt & Sri Bhupal Reddy carried the Mahabharata Grantha with great devotion to the Altar and placed at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna. Deepa Prajwalana by Pujya Acharya & Pujya Mata ji marked the great auspicious beginning of our Jnana Yagnam.
This grand occasion was initiated with prayers to Goddess Sri Saraswati by a wonderful chanting of Sri Saraswati Suktam by sisters - Sreenitya and Poorvaja.  Blessed are the sister duo to have received the blessings of Sri Pujya Swamiji and the divine grace of Goddess Saraswati for their clear and melodious chanting of Sri Saraswati Suktam at the tender age of 7 years.
Following Sri Saraswati astottarapuja, Sri Pujya Swamiji reminded us of the Karuna  of Bhagavan Sri Veda Vyasa who is the basis of our great scriptural & cultural Heritage. In the great praise & thankfulness of the divine Sage, the devotees in unision, chanted Sri Vyasa Stuti.

Pujya Acharya’s discourse began with a brief introduction to the treasures contained in the upcoming Jnana Yagnam. Pujya Swamiji mentioned that Wise utilize time by studying (adhyayana) three scriptures during the day - A study of Sri Mahabharata in the morning, Sri Ramayana during the afternoon and Sri Bhagavata in the night. This leads one to live a successful life realizing the parama purushartha.
Generally when it comes to spirituality, we often come across a phrase – “looking inside/ within”. Revealing the meaning underlying this phrase, Pujya Swamiji said that Eshwara exists in two places – one, surrounding us in the form of “Time or Kala swarupa” and the other form that is within us as  “Antaryami”. If one can utilize time in a prescribed way, he will get an opportunity to realize the God within as taught by the Shastras.
On this first day, Pujya Swamiji has given a quick recap from the last years’ Jnana Yagnam to refresh our memories by touching upon the great character of Sri Dharmaraja and his concrete determination in following Dharma. He mentioned that the Vanaparva which begins contains great teachings from the lives of Savitri, Nala-Damayanti & various great sages that blessed Pandavas with sacred upadesas. Vanaparva hides within its thick forests, the glorious gems of Knowledge that we shall now seek to uplift our lives.
The first day’s discourse by Sri Pujya Swamiji concluded with offering Aarathi to Sri Mahabharata and Eshwara.
We urge you to utilize this rare opportunity to transform your lives towards a ‘Better Living through Great Knowledge’ of this glorious Scripture through this 54 day Jnana Yagna.
