Sri Hanuman Jayanthi: (19th May)
Devotees celebrated Sri Hanuman Jayanthi in the holy presence of Pujya Acharya Sri Prem Siddharth at Acharya Nilayam this evening. The alter was beautiful with an unique picture of Lord Hanuman, in which He is seen standing in a graceful gesture of saranagathi and vinaya with extraordinary embellishments.
Guruji in the very beginning of the celebration spoke about the glory of Sri Anjaneya. He explained the story and significance of Pancha mukha Anjaneya form and why He is seen with sindhuram all over His body in our temples. Acharya has also said that worship of Hanuman means worship of all divine qualities that he represents.
The devotees then did Prarthana mantra parayanam. Smt. Jyothsna Siddharth garu, on behalf of all, has performed Astottara Puja to the Lord while all others were chanting 108 sacred names of Sri Anjaneya. Then there was the bhajan session by Sri Srinivas garu.
At 8:15pm Acharya gave a discourse on “Saranagati”. Every one felt that this talk must be circulated to one and all, even for the beginners, as the ideas that are conveyed therein gave a great clarity. Pujya Gurudev explained the differences between the Saragathi that is in vogue today and the Saragathi that is given by Sastra. He said that Sastraagati eve Saranagathi.
Towards the conclusion of this programme Hanuman chalisa parayanam was done, which was followed by harathi. Maha prasadam was served.
